Seaforth hired John Berry as it’s new varsity boys’ basketball head coach, per sources.
Berry will be the Hawks’ third coach since the school opened in 2021, replacing former head coach Leo Brunelli, who resigned after coaching the Hawks to a 10-15 overall record in his lone 2023-24 season.
For Seaforth, Berry is a familiar face. Berry spent two seasons as the program’s boys’ junior varsity head coach, and he has served as the senior director of the varsity girls' basketball team.
Before that, Berry was the head coach of Woods’ Charter’s boys’ varsity basketball team from 2007-17 and the school’s girls’ varsity team from 2016-19. Berry also founded and runs the Youth Hoops Basketball Camps in Chapel Hill, teaching fundamentals to kids aged 6-14 since 2008.
