NEW HILL – The 85 outdoor warning sirens at the Harris Nuclear Plant will be tested on Wednesday, Oct 11. Working with emergency officials from Chatham, Harnett, Lee, and Wake counties, Duke Energy said the sirens will be tested between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Some sirens may undergo multiple tests to ensure proper functionality. The public is advised that no action is required during this period. Local radio and TV stations will provide appropriate information and instructions in the event of a genuine emergency.
