Athlete of the week: Robert Tripp

Robert Tripp, a junior running back at Northwood, earns athlete of the week honors for the week of Sept. 2.

In the Chargers’ 33-13 win over North Moore Friday, Tripp scored three touchdowns. Two of his scores were long runs, and for the other one, Tripp caught a swing pass for a 13-yard touchdown. Tripp also recorded a couple of pancake blocks in the backfield and as a lead blocker.

Last season, Tripp rushed for 428 yards and three touchdowns on 68 carries. Through the first three weeks of the 2024 season, Tripp rushed for 280 yards and averaged 93.3 rushing yards per game.
