Miriam Spivey Blakley, 82, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at her home.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Rocky Fork Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Vanya Mullinax and Rev. Misty Mowery officiating.
She was born in Lee County to the late James Dandy Spivey and Thelma Wicker Spivey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lee Blakley; sister, Bernice “Pee Wee” Branch and brother, Clyde Burton Spivey. She was a member of Rocky Fork Christian Church where she was involved in the choir and the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was also a volunteer at the Lee County Enrichment Center and the Meals on Wheels program.
Mrs. Blakley is survived by her daughters, Tracey Eades and Mary Jones, both of Sanford; son, Richard Lee Blakley of Sanford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
