Luanne Holt Oestreich, 50, of Cary, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 3:16 pm in her home surrounded by her loving family and bathed in prayer.
Luanne was born in Chatham County on February 11, 1968, the daughter of the late Robert “Kitten” Holt and Peggy Holt Rosenberger. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church where she had served as a devoted Awana Cubbies Leader for nine years.
Luanne was aloving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had an inner strength and courage that was deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ. Luanne exemplified her faith as she gracefully battled for nearly three years her final enemy, brain cancer. “Don’t worry, just pray” was one of her favorite phrases during treatment. Luanne’s continued trust in the Lord allowed her to run strong and finish well despite the challenge.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Kitten” Holt, her step-father, John Rosenberger, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Oestreich, one son, Noah Carter, and two step-daughters, Michelle Oestreich, and Elizabeth Rudd and husband Josh of Cary; her mother, Peggy Holt Rosenberger of Siler City; her step-mother Charlotte Holt of Bonlee; her three brothers, Jeff Holt and wife Barbara of Michigan, Chris Holt of Siler City, and Randy Holt and wife Bethony of Siler City; her three step-sisters, Laresa Watkins and husband Jason of Bonlee, Casey Corder and husband John Meredith of Apex, and Julie Fletcher and husband Johnny of Mt. Airy, and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmaus Baptist Church, 2430 Silk Hope-Gum Springs Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312 for a memorial bench at the church playground as a monument to our love for her, her years of dedicated service, and as a blessing to future children and leaders.
A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
