Jaylee Williams earns athlete of the week honors for the week of July 29.
In the USA Softball Heroes League 19 and Under North Carolina state tournament, Williams put on a stellar performance from the plate for Chatham County Post 292. She went 3-for-4, including two triples, and recorded two RBIs in Post 292’s loss to the Cabarrus Responders in the tournament opener.
Williams is entering her sophomore year at App State where she plays in the outfield. She made just four game appearances in the spring and recorded three runs throughout her freshman season. Before going to App State, Williams was an all-conference softball player at Chatham Central, and she was named the 2023 Mid-Carolina 1A/2A conference softball player of the year.
