ALICE NUNN FOUSHEE

Alice Nunn Foushee, age 87, of Moncure, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Alice was born in Roxboro, N.C., on October 15, 1933, the oldest daughter to the late John and Betty Davis Nunn. The Nunn family moved to the Bells Community (Seaforth) until the government began building Jordan Lake; at which time they moved to Moncure where Alice met Russell Leon Foushee, they were married on February 12, 1956. Alice worked at the local label mill until starting a family at which time she became a homemaker and managed her husband’s construction business. They were lifetime members of Gum Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her three children, daughter, Donna Marsh and husband Bill of Lake Wateree, S.C., son, Wayne Foushee and wife Kathie of Moncure, N.C., and daughter Teresa Hill and husband Paul of Wilson, N.C.; one sister, Dorothy Binder and husband Jerry of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister-in-law, best friend, and traveling companion, Maxine Nunn; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Alice was also preceded in death by her husband Russell Leon Foushee, four brothers, James, Calvin, John, and Jerry, and two sisters Mary Lee and Linda.

A public viewing was held Friday, June 23, 2021, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Gum Springs Baptist Church. The immediate family was not there for the viewing. The funeral service was held Friday, June 25, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Dewitt presiding. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
