PITTSBORO — Town hall will be closed to the public until at least Monday, Aug. 15, because of staffing issues and COVID-19 concerns. Both walk-in or drive-thru services are impacted by the closure, but residents can call the front desk at 919-542-4621, extension 1100.

“If you wish to pay your water bill online, you can access the payment portal by going to https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/pittsboronc,” Pittsboro Public Information Officer Colby Sawyer said in a press release on Thursday. “You can also use any other method to pay utility bills such as pay-by-phone and using the dropbox in the drive-through. Information on these methods can be found by visiting the Town Website.”

Pittsboro’s police department is also closed for walk-in services. Residents can contact the police department at 919-542-3200 during regular hours or Chatham County Emergency Communications using the non-emergency number (919-542-2911) during non-business hours.

“We sincerely hope that we will be able to reopen Town Hall on Monday, August 15,” Sawyer said. “If reopening will be delayed, we will convey this through an additional news release. We thank you for your patience as we work through these challenges and look forward to resuming our normal levels of service soon.”
