Mark Hewitt Pottery Summer Kiln Opening

Posted by Norowilson

(Just 3 miles East of downtown Pittsboro).
Twice a year we open a kiln load of over 1500 pots and invite everyone to the pottery for an Open Studio event we call a Kiln Opening!
It’s a great chance to enjoy a day in the country, see Mark's pottery workshop, the massive kilns, our barn/showroom, and shop for beautiful, handcrafted pottery for yourself or for a gift.
You will find shelves stocked with a delightful selection of lovely tumblers, cozy mugs, dinner plates and cereal bowls, elegant vases, pitchers, lidded jars, small and large serving bowls, platters, useful planters and moew made by master potter, Mark Hewitt.

This is the 107th Firing of the huge wood-burning kiln, and all the pots are stamped '107’.
Mark’s signature Big Pots ~ life-size vases, jars and sentinels ~ will also be on display.

Directions, more about Kiln Openings, mailing list sign up to get notices of Kiln Openings, as well as our online store, are all on our website.

Can't make it in June? We are open by appointment between Kiln Openings!

Hope to see you soon!
