Charles Darrell Brewer, 68, of Goldston, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

Mr. Brewer was born in Lee County on November 10, 1952, the son of Steven Glenn and Marie Beal Brewer.

Darrell was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, Building and Grounds, Sounds, and Fellowship committees. He could always be found at church helping with anything that needed to be done. He loved his church and was a very humble Christian man. Darrell loved watching MeTV. You could always find him on Pinterest, Googling and learning new things. Darrell was a jack of all trades. He loved his family and cherished his time with them. When he wasn’t with his grandchildren, you would find Darrell working with his cows or on the farm. He operated Papa’s Doggy Daycare for Gizmo. In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his brother, Roy Beal, and sister, Emma Roth.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sue Hancock Brewer; daughter, Charity Clark and husband Jesse of Goldston; son, Eric Brewer and wife Angie of Goldston; brother, Danny Brewer of Goldston; sisters, Hazel Brewer and husband Robert of Asheboro, and Raynell B. Hagans of Broadway; grandchildren, Mackenna Clark and Kendall Brewer; step-grandchildren, Heather Taylor and husband Keith of Sanford, and Caitlyn McLeod of Holly Springs; step-great-grandchildren, Lexie and Dawson Taylor; sister-in-law, Brenda Beal of Goldston; grand puppy, Gizmo and grand donkey, April.

The family received friends Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston, N.C.

The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Lawrence and Pastor Mike Garner officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
